These tinted lens sunglasses, made by the Willson Company, were used during a Mount Rainier climb around 1918. The perforated metal "blinders" on the outside of each lens efficiently limited side glare. The yellow-tinted glass lenses, however, were insufficient protection from the blinding effect of the sun's rays.
